Concept

While the geospatial vertical has several conferences based on Event Response, Disaster Management, and ESG, most of these conferences come from a Government or Academic point of view.   There isn’t a single conference focused on how the private sector is tackling these issues via Geospatial Technology and methods, and at the forefront of this is the Insurance industry. 

Additionally, the Insurance industry is one of the most spatially aware fields you will find, but we don’t communicate with each other.  We have common problems that we’ve each solved in our way.  We all have issues we can’t completely wrap our heads around and don’t really talk to each other.  Simply put, we don’t have a community, we have silos of expertise. 

Community allows us to build better products for our clients and to achieve an understanding of our capabilities and strengths.

The proposal for this conference/summit is to bring the Geospatial folks in the industry together to talk about these issues, share our expertise, help solve problems, and build connective tissue between us as Geographers, Climate Scientists, and just Spatially-Aware People.

This will be a “check your jersey” at the door conference.  We’re there to exchange ideas, thoughts, and expertise.
